At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh held on January 14, deputy Zhyldyz Sadyrbaeva raised an important issue regarding the lack of sterilization equipment at the National Center for Maternal and Child Health located in the Jal microdistrict of Bishkek.

She noted that the center is using an outdated steam sterilizer (autoclave) manufactured in 1996, which frequently breaks down and cannot handle the necessary workload.

According to the deputy, the institution needs to perform over 100 sterilizations a day; however, due to the malfunction of the autoclave, medical instruments have to be transported to Maternity Hospital No. 6 by ambulance and then returned.

Sadyrbaeva emphasized that such a situation does not comply with established sanitary norms and creates a risk of cross-contamination, as sterilization occurs in different medical facilities, including departments where patients with purulent infections are treated.

In this regard, the deputy called for immediate action to provide the National Center for Maternal and Child Health with a new autoclave.
