The National Center for the Protection of Motherhood and Childhood held an event dedicated to World Diabetes Day. This day annually emphasizes the importance of early diagnosis, preventive measures, and quality treatment of diabetes, especially in children.
According to information provided by the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, there is an increasing number of children suffering from diabetes in the country. In 2024, more than 1,200 young patients, including children under five years old, were under medical supervision. This highlights the need for continuous improvement of medical care and the implementation of modern technologies.
As part of the development of pediatric endocrinology services, the Center actively implements modern approaches to diabetes management. With the humanitarian assistance of the company "Basel," the endocrinology department received the latest systems for continuous glucose monitoring. This allows for more accurate tracking of blood sugar levels, which helps prevent complications.
The Center's upcoming plans include expanding the use of insulin pump therapy, which will make treatment more comfortable, safe, and effective for children.
The main task of the Center is to provide children with diabetes with modern, quality, and timely medical care, as well as to raise awareness among parents and society about the importance of early detection and proper treatment of this disease.
