According to a member of the Jogorku Kenesh, animal carcasses are being thrown into water bodies
During a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh Committee on Agrarian Policy and Environmental Protection, deputy Santalat Amanova raised a concerning issue regarding the overflowing Bekari pit in Osh. She noted that residents are disposing of animal carcasses in various locations, including water bodies.
Amanova appealed to the Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing, Janibek Kerimaliev, to address this problem. However, the deputy minister only stated that if the pit is overflowing, it needs to be isolated and a new one dug, without offering specific solutions.
Director of the Veterinary Service, Livestock Development, Pastures, and Feed, Adilet Sotovaldiyev, added that Kyrgyzstan is moving towards abandoning Bekari pits in favor of crematoriums.
He clarified that four crematoriums have been established in the Issyk-Kul region with development funds. Additionally, a large crematorium has been set up in the Kara-Suu district. However, the director of the veterinary service did not specify the timeline for acquiring a crematorium for Osh.
