At the parliamentary meeting on January 15, Deputy Marlen Mamataliyev proposed to increase the share of fines that traffic inspectors receive as a bonus from the current 10% to 50%.

During the discussion of amendments to various codes and laws proposing stricter penalties for traffic violations, Mamataliyev emphasized the need to raise the bonus amount.

According to Deputy Interior Minister Oktyabr Urmambetov, inspectors currently receive 10% of the fine amount as a bonus. However, Mamataliyev believes this amount should be increased.

He noted: "Inspectors should be paid not 10%, but 30% or even 50%. We are ready to prepare an official proposal that you can support. Why is this important? We are increasing the fines for drivers, and that is correct. Despite the high integrity of inspectors, there is always a risk that a driver will try to persuade an inspector to take a bribe, especially if the fine is 70,000 soms. To prevent this, it is necessary to raise the bonus to 50%, which will make the work of inspectors more transparent, as their bonus will depend on this," the deputy added, emphasizing his readiness to make changes for the second reading.

In addition, Mamataliyev proposed to review the current career advancement system for inspectors.

"There are certain timeframes for promotions. Could we shorten these timeframes if inspectors identify a certain number of violators?" he asked.

Deputy Interior Minister Urmambetov agreed that increasing the bonus to 50% could be a serious incentive for inspectors' work. He also noted that currently, newcomers in this profession receive a salary of 62,000 soms.
