A cascade of small hydropower plants is planned to be built on the Tar River in the Osh region.

In the Kara-Kulja district of the Osh region, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic signed a memorandum of understanding with the company LLC "Kyrgyzstan Reclaim Co. LTD". This is related to a project for the construction of a cascade of small hydropower plants on the Tar River, as reported by the Ministry of Energy.

The document was signed by Deputy Minister of Energy Altynbek Rysbekov and General Director of LLC "Kyrgyzstan Reclaim Co. LTD" Tsu Chenzi.

According to the terms of the memorandum, the parties plan to implement an investment project that involves the creation of a cascade of small hydropower plants with a total installed capacity of about 200 megawatts.

The estimated investment volume is about 300 million US dollars.

The government emphasizes that the implementation of this project will increase generating capacity, enhance the energy resilience of the country, and contribute to the development of the energy sector in Kyrgyzstan.
