At the meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on Finance, Budget, Entrepreneurship, and Competition Development on February 9, a draft law was presented that proposes to reduce the number of auditors from nine to three. This proposal was voiced by Almaz Akmatov.

According to him, this measure is aimed at optimizing the work of the agency.

Akmatov noted: "Our staff includes 98 inspectors who are directly involved in auditing, while the auditors only oversee this process." He also mentioned that in several large countries, there is only one chief auditor.

The reduction of six auditors, according to Akmatov, will save 30 million soms.

"In addition, according to the directive of the VII convocation, the cabinet of ministers must increase the salaries of auditors starting in April. With the president's approval, it will increase by 100%. This will lead to savings of about 60 million soms," he added.

Akmatov emphasized that currently, inspectors are distributed among nine auditors.

“As a result, the audit is performed by ten people who can stay in one ministry for several months. The adoption of this law will allow 30 inspectors to complete audits more quickly and move on to other agencies,” he concluded.
