Suyunbek Shamshiev, a journalist from "Silk Road. Cultural Development," shared his impressions from his first trip to Kashgar, which became his fifth visit to Xinjiang. According to him, this city is significantly different from Urumqi and Ili, representing a harmonious blend of ancient traditions and modern progress.
An important part of his trip was getting acquainted with the advanced medical technologies of the region. Shamshiev visited a modern hospital of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), where he studied pulse diagnosis methods. He noted that training doctors in this field requires significant effort and emphasized that in modern China, traditional and Western medical practices complement each other, making treatment more effective.
The historical Kashgar became the center of his attention, which is now a thriving cultural and tourist hub. This transition to modernity has been made possible by the tireless work of local artisans engaged in ceramics, metalwork, and traditional scarves, as well as systematic support from the state. Each workshop preserves the spirit of ancient traditions, attracting numerous tourists.
In discussing geopolitical and economic prospects, Suyunbek Shamshiev emphasized Kyrgyz-Chinese relations. He noted that society expects positive changes from the implementation of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project. The journalist believes that the realization of this significant project will open up a path for Kyrgyzstan to the sea and the largest global markets, creating new opportunities for export.
