Uzbekistan implements Russian experience in controlling bloggers' income

Recently, a delegation from the Tax Committee of Uzbekistan traveled to Moscow to familiarize themselves with the methods of the Federal Tax Service of Russia regarding the taxation of virtual entrepreneurs, including bloggers. The purpose of the trip was to implement new services and enhance transparency in the digital sector.

In 2025, Uzbekistan made a significant step towards legalizing the internet economy by incorporating the advertising activities of bloggers and other modern services into the structure for calculating gross domestic product. According to the National Statistical Committee, the advertising market for registered self-employed bloggers is estimated at 62 million dollars (760.2 billion sums). At the same time, experts note that the actual figures may be significantly higher, as many large influencers collaborate with advertising agencies and legal entities.

In addition to bloggers, other previously unaccounted sectors were included in Uzbekistan's statistics and tax base:

Courier services and delivery - the market volume amounted to 3.75 trillion sums;

Catering - over 2 trillion sums;

Private legal services and notaries - over 1.5 trillion sums;

Intermediaries in the car market - about 65 million dollars.

The Uzbek side was particularly interested in Russian technologies, such as personal accounts and mobile applications for the self-employed, which allow for tax payments with one click. The exchange of experience with Russian colleagues will help Uzbekistan legalize the incomes of many citizens working on social networks and digital platforms, creating comfortable conditions for interaction between business and the state.
