In Bishkek, the municipal inspection conducted checks at the markets of the capital to control prices for meat products, as reported by the city administration.
The raids showed that meat is initially purchased from suppliers at a price of 650 to 700 soms per kilogram. However, after passing through the hands of resellers, the final price increases to 800-850 soms.
The city administration noted that such a chain of resales leads to a significant increase in the cost of meat products.
Representatives of intermediary structures buy meat early in the morning at a price of 700 soms per kilogram, and then sell it to retail outlets for 730-740 soms, earning 30 to 50 soms on each kilogram. In retail, the price can reach 780-800 soms and higher.
