Exporters of plant products from Kyrgyzstan risk facing a ban on the export of their goods for up to 60 days in the event of repeated violations of phytosanitary standards. This was announced at a press conference by Urmat Takirov, head of the "Kyrgyzexport" Center, which operates under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce.

He noted that issues related to increasing phytosanitary control were discussed in 2025 at a special meeting. As a result, stricter requirements are imposed on shippers when crossing the border.

An important condition is the presence of accurate addresses and contact information for both the sender and the recipient of the cargo in the documents. Upon the first violation of quarantine norms, both parties receive an official notification. However, if the same legal entity or individual entrepreneur commits a second violation, the Department of Chemicalization, Protection, and Plant Quarantine will refuse to issue phytosanitary certificates for a period of 60 days.

Urmat Takirov emphasized that this two-month restriction is critically important for seasonal products.

Producers and farmers must take great care in filling out the necessary documents, conducting laboratory analyses, adhering to temperature regimes, and meeting fumigation (disinfection) requirements for the products.

“It is important for our exporters to realize that a 60-day export ban is a significant obstacle for seasonal goods. All specialized services are ready for consultations, and we strongly recommend that entrepreneurs contact them in advance to ensure compliance with all norms,” added the head of the center.
