To protect the agricultural sector of Kyrgyzstan, the Osh Department of the Chemicalization, Plant Protection, and Quarantine Service has decided to implement strict control measures for the import of planting material. According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture, the inspection process will be carried out in two stages aimed at preventing the entry of pests into the territory of the republic.
The first stage of the inspection takes place at the "Dostuk" checkpoint located on the border with Uzbekistan. Here, inspectors carefully analyze phytosanitary certificates, permits, and transport documents.
At the second stage, conducted at the "Mega Logistic" customs point, specialists perform a secondary inspection and take samples for detailed analysis in the quarantine laboratory of the city of Osh. Permission for the import of seedlings is granted only upon receiving negative results for the detection of harmful organisms. Additionally, the entire batch of planting material is subject to mandatory disinfection.
Farmers and entrepreneurs wishing to import seedlings into the Osh region must provide a complete set of documents, including a special permit from the Department of Agricultural Crop Expertise, a phytosanitary certificate from the exporting country, an invoice, and transport documents.
The agency emphasizes that strict compliance with these requirements is a crucial condition for protecting Kyrgyzstan's agriculture from quarantine threats and ensuring environmental safety in the country.
