According to information from TOLOnews, citing the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Afghanistan, the country is significantly increasing its trade turnover with Central Asian states.

It is projected that by the end of 2025, the volume of trade operations will reach $2.6 billion. Meanwhile, exports of goods from Afghanistan have increased by 77% and amount to $216 million.

Agricultural products traditionally occupy a central place in exports. Afghanistan supplies Central Asian countries with goods such as dried fruits, pomegranates, grapes, nuts, saffron, cotton, and vegetables.

Economists emphasize that the growth in trade volumes is driven by several factors. Central Asian countries are showing interest in expanding economic ties with Afghanistan, viewing it as a promising transit corridor to the markets of South Asia. Kabul, in turn, aims to participate more actively in regional transport projects, among which is the Termez – Mazar-i-Sharif – Kabul – Peshawar railway corridor, which could connect Central Asia with Pakistani ports.

The Chamber of Agriculture and Livestock of Afghanistan noted that exports to Central Asian countries have become a key direction for the realization of agricultural products and joint investment programs.
