The Deputy Minister explained that the reduction of spring break in the third quarter is related to the coming into force of the new Labor Code in January 2026, as well as additional holidays in May from May 1 to May 10, which effectively create another period of rest for schoolchildren.
“However, we received numerous appeals from parents. After consulting with them, as well as with representatives of schools, experts, and methodologists, we decided to extend the spring break from March 2 to March 8,” she noted.
In addition, Jusupbekova added that the Ministry of Education and the Kyrgyz Academy of Education will be tasked with analyzing the suggestions of parents and educators when forming the holiday calendar for the 2026-2027 academic year.
In the future, a more rational distribution of academic load and rest periods is planned, taking into account the opinions of society and the professional community.
