Today, significant changes are being observed in the field of preschool education.

Osipa Asanbekova, the head of the K. Tynalieva kindergarten in At-Bashy, organized a training seminar for her staff. A Turmush correspondent spoke with her.

According to her, the new educational program is child-centered. The educator is now not just a source of knowledge but a mentor who creates conditions for the development of young personalities.

The main task of the new standard is the comprehensive development of children. The educational process is built taking into account the interests and individual characteristics of each child.

Development according to the standard covers several key areas: health and physical development, social and communication skills, cognitive abilities, speech and language development, as well as aesthetic perception. These aspects are implemented through play methods and in accordance with the age characteristics of the children.

It is important to note that the new standard outlines principles such as an individual approach, consideration of children's interests, inclusivity, the creation of a developmental environment, as well as the collaboration of educators with children and active interaction with families.

Essentially, the main task of the educator today is not to "teach" children but to create the necessary conditions for their growth. Currently, training sessions and seminars are being conducted to implement the new standard.

— What was the main goal of today's training?

— We emphasized that modern educational practice requires educators to ask questions and propose tasks that encourage children to think. We also discussed the correct use of levels of competence, including Bloom's taxonomy (a fundamental tool used by educators and methodologists for formulating educational goals and assessing achievements), and highlighted the importance of guiding children to levels of analysis and creativity.

— How were the requirements of the new state standard clarified?

— The new standard suggests that children's development should occur through life examples and play forms. It was noted at the seminar that such methods are fundamental to meeting the requirements of the standard.

— What changes should be considered when planning lessons?

— When drafting a lesson plan, it is important to formulate goals from the child's perspective, not the educator's. The goals should reflect the actions that the child will perform during the lesson, as well as the results they will achieve. We also discussed the use of SMART criteria to turn abstract goals into specific and achievable tasks.

— What new information did educators gain from the training?

— At the end of the seminar, we reviewed both traditional and innovative lesson plans, as well as provided educators with practical recommendations for tasks in the new format. Additionally, participants received clarifications on the substantive goals of the standard and methodological support for their practical application.

— How successful was this event?

— The training was the culmination of a week of discussions on standards and the developmental program, followed by practical sessions. Educators noted that they received answers to many questions regarding lesson plan development and expressed gratitude for the support.

— What is the importance of such training sessions?

— I believe that the regular conduct of such methodological events is a significant incentive for the professional growth of educators and contributes to a more effective organization of their work.
