A meeting was held at the office of the President of Kyrgyzstan dedicated to issues of providing coal to the population and key sectors of the economy, as well as strengthening control over coal and fuel prices.
The format of the meeting included video conferencing, with participation from the president's authorized representatives in the regions, city mayors, heads of district state administrations, and representatives of various government agencies. The meeting was led by Bakyt Torobaev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.
The main topic of discussion was preventing price increases for coal and ensuring its availability for citizens.
During the meeting, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers instructed district state administrations, the Antimonopoly Service, and law enforcement agencies to intensify control over coal prices at warehouses, as well as prices for fuel and lubricants.
Additionally, "Kyrgyzkomur" was tasked with establishing effective cooperation with local authorities and coal mining companies to provide the population with coal at affordable prices.
It was also proposed to consider the possibility of transitioning social facilities to alternative heating methods. Meeting participants agreed on the necessity of controlling prices for essential goods and ensuring their availability for the population through the organization of fairs on weekends until the beginning of the spring period next year.
During the heating season, the population's demand is 1 million 465 thousand tons of coal, while budget organizations require 309.14 thousand tons. There are 720 coal warehouses operating in the country.
During the discussion, it was also emphasized that measures of accountability for officials regarding the fulfillment of assigned tasks would be considered.
