In the UK, advertising unhealthy food has been banned on the internet and restricted on television

According to new regulations, advertisements for low-quality products can only appear on British airwaves after a specified time. In the internet space, such advertisements are subject to a complete ban.

As reported by The Guardian, the new restrictions apply to 13 categories of products that contain high levels of sugar, fat, and salt. These include sugary drinks (including yogurts), chips, salty crackers, cookies, sugar-laden breakfasts, popcorn, chocolate, chewing gum, ice cream, baked goods, pizza, and frozen meals.

According to statistics, 22.1% of children in the UK are overweight or suffer from obesity by the time they enter primary school, and by the end of their education, this percentage rises to 35.8. The leading cause of dental visits among children aged five to nine is tooth decay.

According to the government, the new measures will reduce children's calorie consumption by 7.2 billion per year and decrease the number of children suffering from obesity by 20,000.
