Former Secretary of State claims the country has become stronger
According to Marat Imankulov, the former Secretary of State, Kyrgyzstan now has capabilities that were previously unavailable, particularly in terms of updating military equipment. In an interview on "Birinchi Radio," he noted that significant and positive changes have occurred in the country over the past few years.
Imankulov pointed to important aspects such as the situation with "Kumtor," the fight against corruption, as well as the escalation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, and the state of the armed forces. He emphasized that achieving such results required serious efforts and political will.
"We see what progress has been made. Changes have occurred in the army: armaments and heavy equipment have been updated, new aircraft have been acquired to ensure security. Previously, such large expenditures were impossible due to a low budget and a high level of corruption. However, the situation has fundamentally changed now. Not only has the equipment been updated, but pensions for security personnel have also increased, and the material and technical base of all law enforcement agencies has improved," he added.
