In Kyrgyzstan, approximately 30 milling complexes are operating, and most of them are currently undergoing modernization. This was stated by the president of the Association of Millers, Rustam Junushov, during a radio broadcast.

According to him, only 10–20% of the mills remain in their original condition, while the rest are being updated — equipment is being replaced and machines are being modernized.

To date, 7–8 enterprises have already completed modernization, which has allowed them to significantly increase their production capacities. New modern milling complexes are also actively being built.

Junushov noted that this indicates that millers have begun to invest in development and the implementation of new technologies. The industry has started to generate income and reinvest it into its own production.

Previously, before the pandemic began, only 8–9 enterprises were successfully operating in the country, whereas today the capacity of the milling industry has increased by about three times.

“We have not only increased production volumes but are also continuing to modernize and improve technological processes,” added the president of the association.
