According to information from Fox News, this decision is related to the need to strengthen checks in accordance with the "public charge" provisions in U.S. immigration law. These measures are aimed at assessing applicants who may be deemed potential "burdens on the state" and likely recipients of social benefits.

Among the factors considered during the checks are health status, age, level of English proficiency, financial stability, and the need for long-term medical care.

U.S. State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott confirmed that the department will exercise its authority to identify non-compliant potential immigrants who may become a burden to the U.S. and rely on the assistance of the American people.

Among the 75 countries whose citizens will have visa issuance suspended is Kyrgyzstan. This decision could significantly impact Kyrgyz citizens planning to emigrate to the U.S. through various immigration programs, such as family reunification. An immigration visa allows for relocation to the U.S. for permanent residence and obtaining permanent resident status (Green Card).
