Former Head of the State Service for Combating Economic Crimes Comments on Rumors of 5 Million Dollars for His Resignation
Sıymık Japykeev, the former chairman of the State Service for Combating Economic Crimes (GSBEP), gave an interview to journalist Ernist Kıyazov, in which he responded to the question of whether he received 5 million dollars after the events of October 2020 to leave his position.
According to widespread rumors, while he was in public service, Japykeev allegedly received 500 thousand dollars, the rank of general, as well as a "buyout" of 5 million dollars for his departure and pension. However, he categorically denied these rumors.
“At one point, I really needed 30 thousand dollars. But Sadyr Japarov could not provide them to me. I received 10 thousand dollars from him as assistance, but the talk of 5 million is just nonsense. How many people believe this, as if they were there and saw everything with their own eyes. I am an honest person and do not ask for money,” Japykeev said.
As for the pension, he also does not receive it.
“To receive a pension, you need to work for 20 years. I was short by 10 months,” the general added.
