The decision to join the new "Council of Peace" led by Donald Trump was made by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. This initiative concerns the management of the situation in the Gaza Strip. Hungary is interested in stability in the Middle East, as current events in this region affect the security of all of Europe, as reported by Deutsche Welle.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto noted that the country highly values the efforts of the American president in peacekeeping and hopes for his assistance in resolving the conflict in Gaza. In addition to Hungary, the invitation was also extended to Italy, which hopes to play an important role in this process.

Trump is creating the "Council of Peace" as an alternative to existing UN structures, which he believes are ineffective. The first test of the new body will be the resolution of the conflict in Gaza; however, American officials have also proposed to expand its functions to include crises in Ukraine and Venezuela.

Additionally, the U.S. administration announced the formation of a committee to manage Gaza (NCAG). To become part of the "Council of Peace," participants will need to make a contribution of 1 billion dollars. Donald Trump, as the chairman of this structure, will have the right to invite or exclude members, block decisions, and create new administrations.
