The situation in the country on the morning of February 2: avalanche threat and fire report

Today, February 2, an avalanche hazard is expected in the mountainous areas of Kyrgyzstan, including blizzards and the occurrence of snow avalanches, according to information from the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

According to the agency, the formation of ice and icing is also forecasted on the following road sections:

the Bishkek—Osh highway, 198–255 km (Ala-Bel Pass, Chychkan Gorge);

the Karakol—Enilchek highway, 45–90 km (Chon-Ashuu Pass).

The message notes that it is important to maintain a distance of 500 meters between vehicles to ensure safety on the road.

In addition, over the course of the day, 8 cases of fires were registered in the Osh, Jalal-Abad, Talas, and Issyk-Kul regions, as well as in the city of Osh.

According to the fire and rescue service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic, 13 units were involved in extinguishing these fires.

Of these, 4 were in the Osh region, 1 in the Jalal-Abad region, 1 in the city of Osh, 1 in the Talas region, and 1 in the Issyk-Kul region.

Rescue services also conducted 2 trips to the incident sites.
