Meeting participants noted that previously athletes had approached the Speaker with a number of problems that require resolution.
Mamataliyev emphasized that in recent years, attention to the development of physical culture and sports has significantly increased. As an example, he mentioned the construction of numerous sports facilities with the support of President Sadyr Japarov. However, he also noted that the existing legislation no longer meets modern requirements.
“We need to conduct a joint discussion, exchange opinions, and analyze the current situation. No one understands the problems in this area better than you,” he addressed the meeting participants.
The Speaker pointed out the importance of clearly defining the powers of various agencies and federations, as well as the need to establish the scope of government funding. The transparency of budget expenditures was highlighted as a particularly important aspect.
During the discussion, the idea of creating a separate law on professional sports emerged, which should take into account the work experience of athletes, facilitate their employment after the end of their careers, and provide for state support in case of accidents. Participants also emphasized the need to develop clear mechanisms for participation in national and international competitions.
Coaches and athletes expressed their proposals, which will be taken into account in the development of new legislative initiatives.
