Recently, parliamentary hearings were held, organized by the Committee on Labor, Health, Women's Affairs, and Social Issues of the Jogorku Kenesh, where the draft law "On Labor Protection" was discussed. This information was announced by the press service of the Jogorku Kenesh.
Representatives from various government structures, local communities, as well as activists from non-governmental organizations and civil society representatives participated in the event.
Deputy Minister of Labor, Social Welfare, and Migration Kamchybek Dosmatov presented the main provisions of the draft law. He noted that the aim of the document is to create a safe and healthy working environment, prevent accidents and occupational diseases, and enhance the effectiveness of labor protection both at the enterprise level and at the state level.
Gulsunkhan Junushalieva, the committee chair, raised issues regarding the resolution of labor disputes through the courts and the protection of citizens' data in the context of using electronic accounting systems. In response, the process of developing a new electronic system "Jumush.gov" was announced, which aims to strengthen the protection of personal information.
Deputy Ulukbek Karybek uulu emphasized the need for improving the qualifications of personnel in both public institutions and the private sector. Additionally, Toktobubu Ashymbaeva suggested increasing the efforts of labor inspectors so they can more effectively protect workers' rights and quickly identify violations.
Discussion participants, including representatives of government bodies, trade unions, and civil society, highlighted the importance of clearly defining the powers of the bodies responsible for monitoring compliance with the new legislation.
Furthermore, topics such as forming a culture of labor protection, improving statistics on workplace injuries, enhancing preventive measures, and refining internal control mechanisms at enterprises were discussed.
