Ismail Dairov: The world is gradually moving away from a unipolar order

A recent conversation on Vitaly Barvinenko's YouTube channel with Ismail Dairov, the head of the "Regional Mountain Center of Central Asia," addressed important issues regarding the escalation of the situation around Iran and its consequences for Central Asian countries, including Kyrgyzstan.

Dairov emphasized that modern global conflicts cannot be viewed in isolation. In a globalized world, events in one country immediately affect other regions, so the situation with Iran is significant not only for the Middle East but also for the broader geopolitical landscape.

According to the expert, the current confrontation around Iran is linked to global processes and changes in the international system. He asserts that the world is gradually moving away from the unipolar structure that emerged after the Cold War and is heading towards a more complex multipolar organization.

Ismail Dairov highlighted that Iran has been developing its institutions and defense capabilities for many years. The country, which has faced sanctions and external pressure since the Islamic Revolution, has been forced to build a system of resilience, including the development of its defense industry and educational institutions.

During the interview, the topic of the clash of different development models was raised. Dairov noted that Western countries are primarily focused on economic and financial interests, while many Eastern states also consider religious and cultural aspects.

Discussing the situation in Central Asia, Dairov pointed out that the countries in the region are taking a cautious stance, trying to avoid involvement in conflicts between major global players. In his opinion, such a strategy is necessary to maintain regional stability and take into account the interests of various partners.

The expert also mentioned previous instances related to foreign military presence in the region, including the establishment of a U.S. airbase in Kyrgyzstan in the early 2000s. He noted that such decisions have long-term geopolitical consequences.

The conversation touched on the response of international organizations. Dairov emphasized that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization always calls for adherence to international law and for seeking political solutions to conflicts.

In conclusion, the expert noted that the world is on the brink of significant geopolitical changes. He believes that current processes may lead to the formation of a new system of international relations, in which Central Asian countries will need to build a more flexible and balanced foreign policy, guided by their national interests.
