During a working trip to the Jalal-Abad region, the Minister of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services of Kyrgyzstan, Nurdin Oruntaev, met with representatives of construction companies in the city of Manas.

The meeting was also attended by the presidential representative in the Jalal-Abad region, Tilek Tekebaev, local authorities, and contractors involved in major projects.

During the discussion, issues regarding compliance with legislation in the construction of socially significant facilities, the quality of design solutions and the justification of estimated costs, as well as the procedure for starting construction work, were addressed.

During inspections at some sites, cases of financial violations were identified, including unjustified inflation of estimated costs.

As a result of the meetings, the minister instructed to review a number of projects. He noted that "the construction of the regional philharmonic in Manas, costing 6 billion 800 million soms, is temporarily suspended. The project will be revised taking into account the optimization of its parameters."

In addition, it was decided to transfer several major facilities, which were previously under the jurisdiction of the Manas city administration, to the direct management of the Ministry of Construction.

Among the transferred facilities:

— a multifunctional sports palace for 5,200 seats on Y. Abdrakhmanov Street;

— a new 7-story building of the regional hospital on Glinka Street;

— a branch of the Presidential Lyceum "Akyilman" on R. Azimov Street;

— a new building for the regional philharmonic on Kurmanbek Street;

— a modern city museum on Kurmanbek Street;

— a park in the Suzak district;

— a pumping station, regulation reservoirs, pipelines, and irrigation networks in the city of Manas.

After the meeting, the minister reviewed the project documentation and the state of construction work on the listed facilities. Final decisions will be made upon completion of the inspections.

It should be noted that these measures were initiated by the president of Kyrgyzstan and aim to strengthen control in the construction sector, improve the quality and adherence to project deadlines, as well as ensure the effective use of budgetary funds.

Meanwhile, the construction of other facilities in Manas continues as usual.
