This year, Kemin celebrated its 11th anniversary. The city is located just 95 kilometers from the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek. The urban-type settlement of Kemin was founded in 1954, and in 2012 it was granted city status. Currently, the population of Kemin exceeds 10,000 people, and the city budget is about 40 million soms. Mayor Kairat Abdyvaliev reported that on September 28, a celebration was held in Kemin in honor of the city's birthday. On that day, a football tournament took place, featuring teams from across the Kemin district, as well as competitions in arkan tartysh. Winners were awarded cups, medals, and certificates of honor. A concert program was organized for residents, and in the evening, the city's youth were offered a disco, fireworks, and a light show.
Since the beginning of 2023, a number of significant works have been carried out in Kemin. After major repairs and roof renovations, the kindergarten "Kemin-Kasiet" was opened, which was returned to the city from private hands in 2014 and now accommodates 180 children. At school No. 3, work has been done to update windows and lay paving stones in the yard; major repairs have not been conducted in this institution since 1977. Additionally, to prevent fires, two sets of fire shields have been purchased for each kindergarten in the city. At the initiative of Kemin city council deputy Sainidin Kasymaliev, the Association of Markets of Kyrgyzstan awarded entrepreneurs from the Kemin district to encourage their activities. A total of 552 people work in the trade sector in Kemin. As part of the city's greening efforts, tree planting activities have also been carried out, including poplars. According to the local budget, an amount of 10 million 500 thousand soms is allocated for asphalt laying over a distance of 1 km 700 m on Tukeiev Street, and about 6 million soms will be used for lighting installation over 2 km on Jibek Jolu Street. Under the "Safe City" program, 5 million 500 thousand soms are planned for the installation of video surveillance in schools and kindergartens.
