Emilbek Baltagulov Appointed Director of the Jalal-Abad Regional Philharmonic

Emilbek Baltagulov has been appointed as the director of the Jalal-Abad Regional Philharmonic named after Toktosun Tynibekov.

The presentation of the new leader took place under the guidance of Timurlan Azhimaliev, Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy. In his speech, he expressed hope for the unity of the team and wished Baltagulov success in his new role.

Emilbek Baltagulov was born on September 28, 1981, in the village of Terek-Sai, located in the Chatkal district of the Jalal-Abad region.

After finishing high school, he enrolled in the music department of the Faculty of Arts at Osh State University, graduating with honors in 2004.

Career

- 2004–2007 — lecturer at the Faculty of Arts of Osh State University;

- 2010–2011 — artistic director at the Terek-Sai House of Culture;

- 2013–2019 — artist at the Jalal-Abad Regional Philharmonic named after T. Tynibekov;

- 2015–2017 — deputy director of the philharmonic;

- 2016–2019 academic years — teacher at secondary school No. 24 named after Gulnara Bakieva;

- since January 2019 — head of the music club "Zhas Talant" at the Suzak District Children's Educational Center;

- since June 24, 2019 — director of the Jalal-Abad Cultural and Technical College;

- since October 28, 2021 — director of the Jalal-Abad Regional Kyrgyz Drama Theater named after Barpy;

- since November 2022 — director of the Jalal-Abad Regional Philharmonic named after Toktosun Tynibekov until the current appointment.

Baltagulov is the author of five dastans and more than 70 songs. He has been awarded the title of "Excellence in Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic" and has become a laureate of various competitions, as well as receiving Honorary Certificates from several state institutions.

Marital status: married, raising two daughters and a son.
