A 2-year-old girl was urgently operated on at the Osh Interregional Children's Clinical Hospital.

This was reported by Zhyrgalbek Tolorov, the chief physician of the institution.

According to him, on the morning of January 15, a small patient was admitted to the hospital after swallowing 17 magnetic toys. The child was brought in during the evening shift.

Doctors noted that the girl had experienced episodes of vomiting for three days. Initially, she was taken to the Nookat District Hospital.

After an X-ray examination, which revealed the presence of foreign bodies in the intestines, the child was transferred to the Osh Regional Children's Hospital. Given the girl's condition, a team of experienced surgeons performed an urgent operation, during which all 17 magnets were removed.

At the moment, the girl's condition is stable; she is receiving the necessary treatment and is under constant medical supervision.

“It is important to remember: magnetic toys pose a serious danger to children. If several magnets are swallowed, they can connect to each other in the gastrointestinal tract, which can lead to intestinal damage and require surgical intervention. Parents should pay special attention to the safety of their children,” the doctors warned.
