The First Deputy Minister of Health, Aibek Matkerimov, spoke about the Ministry's plans to create a unified system of state laboratories. These institutions will be opened in major cities, which will allow for competition with private laboratories.

During a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on labor, health, women's affairs, and social issues, he noted that private laboratories often set high prices for their services.

According to Matkerimov, priority laboratories will be built in major cities, and then their presence will be expanded in the regions.

“State medical institutions already have expensive equipment for laboratory research, which is not always used to its full capacity. Residents of the regions often turn to private laboratories, and we intend to centralize this system by creating state laboratories. In the first phase, we plan to open one center where all resources will be gathered,” he explained.

Matkerimov also added that services in state laboratories will be more financially accessible for citizens, as the mandatory health insurance policy will be taken into account and prices will be lower than in private institutions.
