At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Kamila Talieva stated that the state of medicine in the field of oncology is extremely alarming and is practically "in a coma."

According to her, discussing air pollution issues is not just an environmental problem; it also concerns the health and lives of people.

“In 2015, 5,000 people died from cancer, and by 2025 this number will rise to 6,000. If we continue in the same vein, these figures will increase year by year. Do we have prevention programs? In the field of oncology, our medicine is practically non-functional,” she noted, expressing hope for the new Minister of Health.

First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Daniyar Amangeldiev acknowledged the existence of these problems but emphasized that they did not appear overnight. He added that the state is working systematically to address these issues.

“We are posing a serious question: what will life look like for people in 2030 and 2050? First and foremost, it is necessary to improve the quality of education and pay more attention to the lives of people in the country. Funding for oncology is provided, and work is also underway in the field of nuclear medicine. The first center for nuclear medicine will be established in Central Asia,” he reported.

Talieva also emphasized that new ministers are appointed regularly, and great hopes are placed on them. “Nevertheless, over the past five years, the healthcare system should have significantly improved,” she added.
