Specialists from the Republican Center for Health Promotion clarified whether the MMR vaccination is necessary if a child has already had measles.

Medical experts emphasize that the immunity developed after having measles only protects against that disease.

“Despite the fact that the child has encountered measles, the MMR vaccination is mandatory, as it provides protection against mumps and rubella,” the doctors note.

According to the national vaccination schedule of Kyrgyzstan, vaccination against measles is carried out at 12 months of age using the MMR vaccine, with a booster vaccination at 2 years.
