At the parliamentary meeting on February 25, Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Elvira Surabaldiyeva proposed to consider the possibility of constructing a multidisciplinary hospital in the west of the capital.

She noted that the existing city hospital No. 1 occupies an area of about 1 hectare and is located on the site of old medical institutions, such as the narcological and psychoneurological dispensaries, which are now in a state of disrepair.

According to the deputy, the population of the nearby new buildings and the Kyzyl-Asker area exceeds 30,000 to 40,000 people. However, access to a modern hospital is limited, and residents have to seek medical assistance in the city center, including at the republican hospital, which creates additional difficulties in the conditions of traffic jams and population growth.

Surabaldiyeva proposed to build a modern medical center on this site, which would help alleviate the burden on central healthcare facilities. She expressed the opinion that it is possible to construct a large complex of up to 14 floors, similar to what has been done for the law enforcement agencies.

The deputy also emphasized the importance of addressing staffing issues in the healthcare system, urging attention to this aspect and ensuring the proper selection of specialists.

Acting Minister of Health Damirbek Osmonov, commenting on the proposal, agreed that the initiative is aimed at addressing pressing issues. He noted that about 34,000 residents are forced to go to the city center for medical services, which creates a burden on city hospitals and causes inconvenience to people.

The minister stated that this proposal will be considered and taken into account in future plans.
