Kirill Dmitriev, who serves as the special representative of the President of Russia for investment and economic cooperation, shared his impressions from meetings with the American special envoy Steve Witkoff and the son-in-law of the U.S. President Jared Kushner, describing them as productive.

Dmitriev arrived in Miami on Saturday and immediately headed to negotiations, which took place at a golf club.

He noted for Russian journalists that "the discussions are constructive."

According to him, discussions on Ukraine will continue on Sunday. "The discussions began and will also continue tomorrow," Dmitriev added, planning to spend the weekend in Miami.

Earlier, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed his intention to join the negotiations in Florida.

It was reported that negotiations between the U.S. and Russia on Ukraine were scheduled for December 20-21 in Miami. It was expected that, despite the peace plan still being developed, the U.S. administration intended to present the Russian side with the results of recent consultations with Kyiv and European leaders.

According to media reports, American officials believe that as part of a final deal, Russia may agree to Western security guarantees similar to NATO's Article 5, as well as Ukraine's membership in the European Union.

The recent round of negotiations on Ukraine took place on December 14-15 in Berlin, where delegations from Kyiv and Washington discussed the situation with the participation of the German government. On the second day, European politicians joined the negotiations, including NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. According to sources, the parties managed to agree on about 90 percent of the terms of a potential peace agreement, but the issue of territorial integrity remains the most challenging.
