In accordance with the decisions made at the Cabinet of Ministers meeting, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Development Enkhbayar Jadamba emphasized the need to improve management at the Development Bank of Mongolia. The main tasks include reducing the level of non-performing loans, optimizing the management of special assets, and strengthening mechanisms for transparency and control.
As part of this program, a meeting of the bank's Board of Directors is scheduled for December 25, 2025, during which structural changes will be discussed. In particular, it is planned to reduce the number of departments from 10 to 6 and subdivisions from 25 to 16, as well as to cut the number of managerial positions by 40% and reduce the staff from 145 to 99 employees. These changes are expected to save about two billion tugriks.
The government intends to manage the Development Bank with a compact and professional team until full improvement and stabilization of its operations are achieved. The shareholder and the Board of Directors have been instructed to ensure the management of the bank by a qualified team of executives free from political influence.
