The information about the conversation was announced by Muttaqi, although the Tajik side has not yet made any official statements regarding this matter.
According to Tajik authorities, the clash occurred on December 23, resulting in the deaths of two Tajik officers and three attackers.
At an event dedicated to the 46th anniversary of the Soviet troops' entry into Afghanistan, which took place on December 27 in Kabul, Muttaqi reported the beginning of a "serious investigation" following the incident at the border.
The minister noted that there are "malicious circles" trying to undermine relations between Afghanistan and Tajikistan by creating the impression of an "unsafe" situation.
"We are in contact with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan and are working together to prevent such negative events," he added.
However, Muttaqi did not provide additional details and did not specify when exactly their conversation took place.
