Three militants representing a terrorist organization attempted to cross the border; however, refusing to surrender, they offered armed resistance and were eliminated.
As a result of the incident, two border guard officers - Zirekhbon Navruzbekov and Ismatullo Kurbonov - were killed.
Among the items seized from the eliminated terrorists were ten hand grenades, three M-16 rifles, three pistols, an AK-47, a night vision scope, and explosives.
This is already the third incident in the past month involving armed attacks on Tajik territory from the Afghan side, as reported by the "Khovar" agency.
Tajik authorities stated that these events highlight the serious shortcomings of the "Taliban" government in fulfilling international obligations to ensure security at the border with Tajikistan and in combating terrorism.
In response, the border guards expressed hope that the "Taliban government" would apologize to the people of Tajikistan and take measures to improve the situation at the border.
Currently, the situation at the border is calm, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
