In an interview with The Atlantic, Zelensky noted that he prefers the continuation of hostilities over reaching an agreement that he considers unacceptable for Ukraine.

According to the publication, there is concern among the president's circle that the opportunity for a peaceful agreement may be missed, and the war could drag on for several years if a deal is not reached by next spring.

Commenting on the situation at the front, Zelensky confidently stated, "Ukraine is not losing," adding that he is ready to continue the fight despite the protracted conflict.

As The Atlantic emphasizes, the Ukrainian president is not willing to accept "humiliating terms," even despite the desire to end the conflict as soon as possible. One of his advisors noted that Zelensky tends to ignore external pressure and may act contrary to the expectations of others.

Furthermore, Zelensky added that U.S. President Donald Trump, if he wants to establish himself as a peacemaker, should take advantage of the current situation to help bring an end to the conflict.

Earlier in an interview with Bloomberg, he expressed his readiness to accept the U.S. proposal for a new round of negotiations with Russia, which could take place on February 17 or 18. The main topic of these meetings will be territorial issues.
