The Chief of Staff of the IDF, Eyal Zamir, announced that the Israeli army has begun active operations against "Hezbollah" in Lebanon. "We have moved to an offensive campaign. This is not just defensive measures — we are preparing for prolonged battles," he noted at a meeting with military officials.

Previously, "Hezbollah" attacked the Israeli city of Haifa using rockets and drones, claiming it was "revenge for the blood of Ali Khamenei." Media reports indicate that some rockets were intercepted, while others fell in uninhabited areas.

In response, the IDF began striking Hezbollah positions on Lebanese territory.

According to sources, one of the strikes resulted in the death of Mohammed Raad, who headed the political wing of Hezbollah and was the leader of the parliamentary faction "Loyalty to the Resistance" in the Lebanese National Assembly.

At least ten fatalities have also been reported as a result of attacks on the southern suburbs of Beirut.

It is worth noting that on February 28, the US and Israel launched a large-scale military operation against Iran aimed at preventing Tehran from developing nuclear weapons. US President Donald Trump had previously stated his intention to destroy the Iranian navy and defense industry, as well as calling for a change of power in the country.

On the night of March 1, Iran confirmed the information about the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
