In his first public address since the onset of conflicts in the Middle East, Al Nahyan emphasized the importance of the country's Armed Forces, thanking them for their service "in this difficult time." He also highlighted the significance of foreign residents living in the UAE.

The President stated: "We are in a state of war, and I am committed to fulfilling my duty to all. This situation has been imposed on us, and we must defend ourselves, our families, and our country."

Additionally, he visited those affected by the attacks from Iran, including citizens of the UAE, India, Sudan, and Iran, emphasizing that caring for the wounded is the state's responsibility.

Al Nahyan added: "The UAE is an attractive and exemplary country, but we should not be underestimated. We have strong defenses, and we will not be an easy target."

Military actions began on February 28, when the US and Israel launched an operation against Iran, prompting retaliatory strikes from Tehran on American facilities in allied countries in the Middle East.

Among the countries targeted were the United Arab Emirates. Although the attacks were aimed at military facilities, civilian sites were also affected, including the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai and the area around the Burj Khalifa skyscraper, where Iranian drones fell in the Palm Jumeirah area.

On March 7, the Iranian Navy carried out massive drone strikes on American facilities in the UAE and Kuwait, including the Al Minhad base in Abu Dhabi and the Al Adiri camp in Kuwait. The airport in Dubai was also attacked.
