On March 7, Saturday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the start of airstrikes on Iran's oil infrastructure. An IDF representative stated that as a result of these actions, at least 30 oil tanks in Tehran were attacked, information reported by The Times of Israel.

A representative of Iran's Ministry of Oil, who wished to remain anonymous, confirmed to Fars news agency that three oil storage facilities in Tehran and the nearby city of Karaj were attacked. According to IRNA, two of these storage facilities were located near an important oil refinery in the south of the capital; however, the refinery itself was not damaged.

In response to these actions, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported a missile strike on an oil refinery in the Israeli city of Haifa. So far, Israel has not confirmed this information.

At the same time, CNN, citing an unnamed source in Israel, reported that the strikes on oil storage facilities are part of a new phase of the conflict.

“Israel is beginning attacks on oil storage facilities in Iran as part of the next phase of the war,” the source told the channel.

On the same day, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that joint bombings of Iran would continue and that the “moment of truth” is approaching when the Iranian people may overthrow their current government.

Netanyahu also addressed the Iranian military, assuring them that those who choose to lay down their arms will not face punishment.
