Iraq opened an embassy in Turkmenistan

The embassy of Iraq has opened in Ashgabat, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

On Monday, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Serdar Mukhammetdurdiyev, met with the Chargé d'Affaires of the Iraqi embassy, Jassim Mohammed Al-Attar.

During the meeting, Mukhammetdurdiyev expressed gratitude to the Iraqi side for the decision to open a representation in Ashgabat, which was noted in the official statement.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the launch of the Iraqi diplomatic representation in Ashgabat will serve to strengthen bilateral relations in the areas of politics, economy, and culture.

The parties also discussed opportunities for expanding trade and economic ties, including creating partnerships between the business communities of the two countries. An important aspect of the discussion was the prospect of developing cultural and humanitarian ties encompassing science, education, sports, and tourism.
