During a briefing, Trump stated: "I predicted many events, including the destruction of the World Trade Center and the actions of Osama bin Laden."
He also noted that he realized long ago that U.S. allies might not come to help in critical moments and predicted that the Strait of Hormuz would be used in conflicts. "I predicted this many years ago," he added.
The U.S. President has repeatedly emphasized that he warned about the potential threat from Osama bin Laden long before the September 11, 2001 attacks. In this context, he referred to his book "America We Deserve," published in 2000, in which he mentioned bin Laden as a serious danger.
Trump's statements came against the backdrop of several countries refusing to support the U.S. regarding Iran. For example, on March 16, Sweden announced its unwillingness to participate in ensuring the security of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson stated that the country does not have the capacity to influence the situation in this region, as its main resources are directed towards assisting Ukraine.
