According to information provided by The Washington Post, representatives of Qatar and Oman have initiated a dialogue with Iran regarding a possible ceasefire.

The publication notes that the activation of mediation efforts occurred after the realization in the region that the escalation of military pressure from the United States and Israel would not lead to the swift overthrow of the Iranian government. At the same time, the newspaper claims that Iran has expressed a willingness to discuss de-escalation, but only if Washington and Tel Aviv cease their attacks.

Earlier, Axios reported that discussions about possible ways to resolve the conflict have also begun in the U.S. According to sources, Iran has signaled through intermediaries its readiness for negotiations; however, officials in the country deny the existence of direct contacts with Washington. Among the intermediaries, according to Axios, there are also regional players.

Meanwhile, hostilities have been ongoing since February 28. The conflict affects not only Iran and Israel but also the infrastructure of the Persian Gulf countries, with both sides continuing to exchange strikes.
