On April 2, 2026, a meeting took place in Bishkek between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Zheenbek Kulubaev and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Mongolia to the country, Gankhuyag Sodnom. The discussion focused on current issues of bilateral cooperation.
This meeting was timed to the conclusion of Gankhuyag Sodnom's diplomatic mission in Kyrgyzstan.
During the dialogue, the parties emphasized important aspects of cooperation, particularly the implementation of agreements reached during the visits of the presidents of the two countries: Sadyr Japarov to Mongolia in 2023 and Khurelsukh Ukhna to Kyrgyzstan in 2025.
A key issue of discussion was the development of joint industrial initiatives, including the launch of the "Kasiyet" wool yarn factory.
Additionally, the parties set timelines for upcoming important meetings.
Kulubaev also invited the Mongolian delegation to the World Nomad Games, which will be held in Kyrgyzstan in 2026, noting Mongolia's significance in preserving and promoting nomadic culture.
In the context of discussing regional cooperation, the parties touched upon issues of interaction within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), emphasizing Kyrgyzstan's leading role in this structure.
Ambassador Gankhuyag expressed gratitude for the successful cooperation and confirmed readiness to continue strengthening friendly relations between the two states.
In conclusion of the meeting, Minister Kulubaev noted the personal achievements of the ambassador in developing Kyrgyz-Mongolian relations, presenting him with a Certificate of Honor from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and wishing him success in his future endeavors.
