Jet fuel prices in Europe hit record highs

In Europe, jet fuel prices have reached a record high of $1900 per ton, according to information provided by the Kazinform agency.

The UK has been hit the hardest, with cancellations already reported at Heathrow Airport and other air hubs in the country due to the sharp increase in fuel costs. There is a possibility that French airports may also join this situation.

European media report that in other European Union countries, jet fuel reserves currently allow operations to continue for several months.

The reason for the record price increase is the disruption of supplies through the Strait of Hormuz amid the conflict with Iran. Market analysts report that in recent days, the price has increased by nearly $300 per ton, breaking the previous record.

Experts warn that if the blockade of the strait continues, it could put serious pressure on the aviation industry in Europe, leading to higher ticket prices and potential mass flight cancellations in the coming weeks.
