Frédéric Péché, an anesthesiologist, was convicted by a court in eastern France for crimes related to contaminating his patients' IV drips with substances that led to cardiac arrest and internal bleeding, as reported by BBC News.
This former doctor poisoned 30 people, and 12 of them died as a result of his actions.
According to the prosecutor, Péché's motives were varied. In some cases, he provided assistance to those he poisoned in order to present himself as a hero.
