On January 28, around 5:30 PM, two children — A.Z., born in 2016, and K.A., born in 2019 — left their apartment and went missing. Approximately at 8:25 PM, their relatives contacted the police, after which the minors were declared wanted.
During the search, one of the officers from the Sverdlovsk District Internal Affairs Department suggested that the children might have fallen into a frozen pond. He decided to take the risk and, tying himself with a rope, began to move across the ice. However, the ice started to crack under his weight. At that moment, rescue services arrived at the scene and were able to retrieve the children from the water. Unfortunately, according to preliminary data, the children did not survive.
In connection with the incident, a preliminary investigation has been initiated, during which relevant examinations will be conducted.
