Earlier, reports emerged that Umyrzakov had died in a correctional institution.
Mursalym Umyrzakov was born on April 6, 1975, in the village of Sary-Tologoy, located in the Tyup district of the Issyk-Kul region. He has repeatedly come to the attention of law enforcement for various offenses, including his most recent one—contract murder.
Case Events
Daniyar [name changed, K.D., born in 1993] met Gulya [name changed, A.G., born in 1971] while serving his sentence in prison. Despite a significant age difference, they developed a romantic relationship and actively communicated through letters and phone calls. For Daniyar, this was not his first conviction, but Gulya was not deterred by his past. After his release, Daniyar moved in with Gulya.
After a while, a conflict arose between the couple. Upset, Gulya sought support from her son Mirbek [name changed, K.M., born in 2001], informing him about Daniyar's debts.
The family was aware that Gulya's former partner always carried a knife, and his criminal past instilled fear in them. Consequently, Gulya and Mirbek turned to the leader of one of the organized crime groups—"Karyshkyr." According to investigative authorities, Gulya ordered the murder of Daniyar.
On the evening of April 24, 2022, Daniyar was on one of the streets in Bishkek. Around midnight, a "Kia" car approached him, driven by Mirbek's friend [A.A. — the driver]. Other individuals in the car forcibly placed Daniyar inside, beat him, and then dumped his body at a cemetery in the village of Arashan in the Alamudun district. He died from the injuries sustained.
On the morning of April 25, Daniyar's body was discovered by local residents, who promptly reported it to the police.
In May, officers from the Chuy Regional Department of Internal Affairs and the Alamudun District Police Department detained suspects in this crime, including "Karyshkyr" himself. The police continued searching for other participants in the case and on May 30 detained two more suspects, who were recorded in the operational reports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as members of an organized crime group.
On June 20, 2023, Umyrzakov Mursalym Uzakovich was convicted under several articles of the criminal code, including Article 261 ("Creation of an organized group or participation in it"), Article 165 ("Kidnapping"), Article 208 ("Extortion"), Article 122 ("Murder"), and was sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property, serving his term in a strict regime correctional colony.
