In early 2026, a resident of Bishkek reported to the Internal Investigations Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He stated that a group of men, posing as law enforcement officers, demanded $10,000 from him. Promising to resolve a criminal case in his favor, they took the money and disappeared.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident under Article 209 ("Fraud") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
As a result, two suspects have been detained: S.A., born in 1998, and S.M., born in 1976. It has been established that they have no relation to law enforcement agencies. Another suspect has also been identified — A.A., born in 1982, who previously had a criminal record. He is currently in custody for another fraud case being investigated by the State Committee for National Security.
